What does the Spindle subscription cover, and what does it not?
The subscription covers running the platform. New business-specific work is scoped separately as professional services.
| Covered by the subscription | Separately scoped professional services |
|---|---|
| The licensed platform | New products |
| Agreed cloud operations | New configurations |
| Security operations and monitoring | New integrations |
| Backups and recovery | Migration |
| Platform upgrades | Functional changes |
| Support for the subscribed implementation | Agreed with you for each piece of work |
Which subscription configurations does Spindle offer?
Spindle offers five configurations: Core, Core+, Core Flow, Core Flow+ and Engagement+. Ask the Spindle team through the contact page for the current description of each.
Who provides support?
The customer's own team provides first-line (L1) support. Spindle provides second-, third- and fourth-line (L2 to L4) support.
How long does delivery take?
These figures describe Spindle's general experience. They are not a guarantee to any particular customer. A customer's own timeline depends on its scope.
| What | General experience |
|---|---|
| A working demonstration | Can be assembled in weeks. |
| A first defined product in production | Approximately three to six months. |
| A full migration and implementation for a large carrier with hundreds of products | May take approximately two to three years. |
How does delivery compare on cost?
In Spindle's general experience, the pre-integrated, configuration-based method can reduce implementation cost by more than 50% compared with traditional multi-product assembly.
Five-year total cost of ownership is approximately one third lower than acquiring, integrating and running a comparable platform yourself.
How does AI fit into delivery?
Spindle is AI-enabled. Its delivery uses AI-augmented engineering under practitioner design authority, with human review and sign-off. The page on AI-augmented delivery with ZaZu describes the approach.
Does Spindle replace our existing policy system?
Not necessarily. Spindle works alongside existing policy systems. A customer can adopt the engagement, process and integration layers without subscribing to Spindle PAS.
