What does Spindle Integration cover?
Spindle Integration covers six areas:
- governed API management
- service and integration orchestration
- data movement
- transformations between data formats
- events
- connectivity to other systems
What is a governed API?
An API is a defined way for one system to ask another for a service or for data. A governed API is managed deliberately, so it is documented, controlled and consistent. Spindle is API-first, which means every capability is designed to be reached this way.
How does Spindle Integration connect to the customer's own systems?
Customers keep their own general ledger, payment services and identity provider. None of these is part of Spindle, and Spindle Integration provides the connectivity to them. It also connects to the customer's existing policy systems.
Can I use Spindle Integration without Spindle PAS?
Yes. Spindle works alongside existing policy systems. A customer can adopt the engagement, process and integration layers without subscribing to Spindle PAS.
Who changes an integration after go-live?
New integrations are separately scoped professional services. The page on how Spindle is delivered explains what the subscription covers and what is scoped separately.
